Hair extensions should have an average life of anywhere from 3 to 6 months. This can be a lot longer or a lot less depending on how well the extensions are cared for, used and stored. The general rules are to avoid excessive heat, excessive brushing or excessive washing. Treat the hair with the same love and respect you should your own hair!

Remy (also referred to as remi) is not a brand but rather a grading system for hair extensions. When purchasing remy hair you are getting hair that is confirmed as cuticle correct. This means that the hair is prepared so that every strand flows in the same downward direction. This is a must for human hair extensions as it means the extensions will flow naturally with your own hair and be far less likely to matt or tangle when worn.

If you're hair extensions arrive and the colour doesn't match as well as you had hoped, we don't want you to worry!

You are welcome to return the hair for a refund or exchange as outlined in our guarantee!

Absolutely! In fact you can treat them just like you would your own hair! Just remember, like your own hair, human hair extensions are not indestructible. So treat them with TLC! We do not advise hair being left wet and to airdry - they need to be blow dried and straightened to keep smooth. We always advise using a heat protector serum/spray and a shampoo & conditioner that is (SULPHATE FREE). Applying argan oil to the ends is also a top tip!

If you're just wanting volume, then close to your own length is fine! If you want to achieve any length, ideally choose a length a minimum of 4" longer than your own hair!

When brushing use a soft bristle brush, start at the ends of your hair and gently work your way up. Always brush in a downward motion. Do not brush harshly or when soaking wet! Backcombing can break and damge the hair extensions.

You can certainly colour our extensions as they are 100% Indian Human Remy Hair. If you choose to dye your Halo Hair Extensions, as with your own hair it is best only to dye them a few shades darker. Completely saturate the hair extensions in the hair dye to ensure an even application and leave for the recommended time. - Best to do a sample strand test first to obtain a correct developing time.

We DO NOT recommend using any bleach or lightening agents on the hair as this may cause damage to the extensions and your own hair.

We strongly recommend you seek salon assistance in colouring your hair or Halo hair extensions as we cannot guarantee results or be held responsible for failed dye attempts that results in damage or wrong colour creations.

We all know it's the last thing we want to do at the end of the day but storing your hair extensions the correct way will help the life span of your hair extensions.

We highly recommend our Style & Store Hanger set that you can purchase on our accessory page. Available in Black, Pink & White.

It shouldn't be necessary to wash your hair extensions straight away, you may need to wash every 6/8 weeks.

1. Mix half a cup of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of shampoo. We recommend sulphate free shampoo.
   
2. Fill your sink with warm water (not hot!) and mix the cup of diluted shampoo into the water. Keep the Halo weft or clips out of water (this avoids wetting the lace weft of the Halo and the clips going rusty on your clip ins). Make sure to gently brush your extensions to ensure they are tangle free and place them into the sink or bowl. Then swirl around the sink gently in one direction to avoid tangling.
   
3. Remove the extensions and rinse them under a warm running tap, holding the extensions at the top, near the clips/Halo weft.
   
4. Squeezing out any excess water (starting at the top working your way down) and avoiding tangling the hair, lay the extensions out flat on a towel. Apply a conditioning treatment to the extensions, such as an intensive repair treatment. Comb through from ends to weft using a wide tooth comb. Gently fold over the towel and leave for approx one hour to allow the conditioner to penetrate the hair to add the moisture back into the hair.
   
5. Rinse the conditioner out and apply a leave in conditioner serum or spray to the mid/end sections of the hair. You can apply more than you would usually on your own hair.
   
6. Blo Dry the hair extensions in small sections using a heat protector. Once your extensions have dried, you can comb through gently from clip to tip, before applying heat protection spray again and straightening one weft at a time.

Before choosing your hair extensions, we would encourage you to use our colour matching service to get an ideal colour match from our available colours.

If we canot offer a perfect colour match and you need to dye them please follow the instructions below.

It's recommended to buy a shade closest to your own hair colour - lighter shade that your hair. The hair has already been through a chemical process, so bleaching or lightening the hair will affect the condition of the hair.
Do not rub or tangle the hair, simply apply the dye in a patting and stroking motion from root to tip, using a brush will help to evenly distribute the dye. The hair can be dyed more than once, but remember, like your own hair, the condition will be affected the more you dye the extensions. Always follow the instructions and thoroughly rinse the dye from the extensions. Read through the above instructions on cleaning your extensions for when it comes to washing the dye from the hair.
Always carry out a strand test before dyeing whole hair extensions. Dyeing hair extensions requires professional experience. Once hair has been dyed we cannot be held responsible for the dyeing process.

Don't use products which contain alcohol. These can dry out the extensions and make them brittle and weak. Perfume can be a big cause of drying out extensions.
Don't wear your extensions to swim in, this will tangle them and dry them out.
Be sure to take your extensions out before going to bed.
Don't bleach or lighten your extensions.
Don't go to bed with your hair wet.
Don't leave your hair extensions to air dry

No matter how much we wish they werebut hair extensions are not attched to your scalp in the same way your real, natural hair is.

Your scalp produces a natural hair oil called sebum to keep your hair in good check! Hair extensions whatever type you have don't receive this natural oil so overtime a lack of tlc can cause them to appear dry and damaged.

Often lighter shades will have been processed more and more chemicals added to the indian human remy hair to achieve the shade thereford is more suseptible to dryness and breakage.

Our hair extensions are single drawn so they do need more looking after than double drawn hair as the hair is already in a natural thinner state at the bottom.

Avoid swimming in the sea as it is full of salt which is a recipe for dry and damaged hair.

The best way to revive dry hair exxtensions is by using an all round natural oil treatment (OLAPLEX is amazing!) Certain natural oils can penetrate the hair follicles from the inside out and a hair mask is always a great go to!

Brush through your hair extensions to remove any knots/tangles. GENTLY start from the end and work up in small sections. Once the hair snaps off this cannot be replaced.

Apply a conditioning hair extension ask to the hair combing through evenly to distribute evenly all over the hair.

Leave this in a considerable amount of time to allow the penetration of the product - the longer the better!

Wash very thoroughly the treatment out with a sulphate free shampoo and condition - if any is left in this will occur more issues in the long term.

Before blow drying your extensions be sure to add a leave in conditioner, moisture spray and heat protector to maximise the moisture retention and prevent further drying out situations.

All extensions will then need to be straightened in small sections with a comb to ensure the cuticle is back aligned naturally.
